About the Role
Skill Stand In works with AI training and evaluation opportunities available through platforms such as DataAnnotation, Handshake AI, and Alignerr.
These platforms provide projects that help train and evaluate AI models. Depending on the project, tasks can involve reviewing AI-generated responses, evaluating code and technical reasoning, identifying errors, comparing different responses, providing human-written explanations and feedback, and developing rubrics that describe what a correct, useful, and high-quality response should contain.
As a Software Engineer with Skill Stand In, your primary responsibility is to set up, maintain, and manage the assigned platform accounts and coordinate the work associated with them.
What You’ll Do
- Create and complete onboarding for assigned AI training platforms.
- Complete required profile, identity verification, and account setup steps.
- Maintain accurate professional and account information.
- Monitor assigned accounts for available projects, tasks, notifications, and platform updates.
- Complete account-holder-specific actions when required by the platform.
- Monitor project activity and account status.
- Track earnings, payments, and payout activity.
- Maintain organized records related to assigned accounts and projects.
- Coordinate with Skill Stand In and assigned technical experts regarding available work and project requirements.
- Report account, technical, payment, verification, or compliance issues promptly.
- Maintain the dedicated work laptop and required browser profiles for assigned platforms.
- Follow Skill Stand In procedures as well as the applicable rules and requirements of each platform.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong background in software development and production engineering.
- Specialized expertise in one or more areas such as frontend, backend, full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, data engineering, mobile development, AI/ML, or distributed systems.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, Go, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, debugging, testing, and development workflows.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Strong written English and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and reliably manage assigned accounts and responsibilities.
Time Commitment
Approximately 5–10 hours per week, depending on platform activity and available projects.
Onboarding Payment
You will receive a one-time $100 onboarding payment after successfully completing the required initial platform onboarding process.
Dedicated Work Laptop
After successful onboarding, Skill Stand In will provide you with a dedicated work laptop for the role.
The assigned platform accounts will be set up in dedicated browser profiles on this laptop. It is intended exclusively for Skill Stand In work and should not contain personal files, personal accounts, saved personal passwords, banking information, identity documents, or other private information.
Authorized Skill Stand In team members may remotely access the dedicated work environment for account management, operational support, and permitted project-related activities.
Ongoing Compensation
After onboarding, compensation follows a revenue-sharing model. The Software Engineer receives 30% of the applicable income generated through their assigned accounts, projects, or sub-team, while Skill Stand In retains 70% for project coordination, operations, technical resources, and related services.
Additional payment terms and project-specific requirements are provided during onboarding.
